2008 100hp 8SV Posi-Track bobcat fitted with forks & cutter bar for the effective removal of plants |
| A bobcat has considerably less impact on the surroundings, than the traditionally used bulldozer. There is less soil disturbance and less damage to other vegetation. |
| An area the size of two football fields can be cleared in an hour. |
| Suitable for heavy infestations of woody weed such as lantana, the bobcat is effective in reducing the bulk of the thickets in order to allow the application of other controls & to remove large plants entirely from the ground. |
As with all mechanical control methods, revegetation with pasture or native vegetation should always be carried out as soon as possible. Follow-up treatment of shoots and seedlings with methods such as spot spraying is essential. |
